Since I talked to you last in my weekly notes SJEA has:
- sent out a mailer about the election that we had to address and stamp ourselves
- had a round table meeting with school board member Carla Wright

WINTER LEADERSHIP
Winter leadership is scheduled for February 23-24, 2007 at the OMNI Hotel in downtown
DECEMBER FREE
In talking to your friends who have not joined, you can tell them that they will not have to pay dues in December. They can have a free ride until January if they join now. Ask a friend to join - the larger we are, the louder our voice. Any SJEA member can sign the membership form and sponsor a new member. Whom have you talked to this week? Did you ask them to join? What a great gift to give themselves this season.
FREE ADMISSION to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS
I was sent this email and thought that I would forward it to you.

I PLEDGE
Check out the attached picture of Kristen Bailey collecting "I Pledge" Cards on November 7th. She is a real trooper! Several of us worked all day collecting signatures. It is still not too late to get cards signed. Please make sure that you return your signed cards. Drop them by the office or send them in the campus mail to Barbara Zosel at Mill Creek.
WORKS-4-ME
Removing Transparency Ink
From Robbie Wippich (Roberta.wippich@dpsnc.net), a math teacher at Hillside High School in Durham, North Carolina:
"The best way to clean overhead transparency ink off your hands is to use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with a cloth or paper towel."
Markers on Overheads
From Farah Joy (fdjoy99@comcast.net), a second grade teacher at Regency Park School in Sacramento, California:
"You can write directly on your overhead with a white board marker eliminating the use of transparencies and the chore of washing them.
No Blue Fingers
From Judy O'Dell (jodell56@aol.com):
"If you must use transparency markers, wipe them off with a diaper wipe. Get the cheapest ones and not the ones with aloe. I put on rubber gloves and clean away. No blue fingers. No students spraying each other with a squirt bottle."
